One World: Health in Philadelphia 1682-2004 is the first in the series of City History Lessons designed by the Atwater Kent Museum of Philadelphia to
engage adults and children in learning the historical context for issues facing Philadelphians today. Each lesson provides important information, a
timeline of significant events, direction to the city's rich resources related to the subject and activity that guides conversation and awareness.
Look for the launch of One World: Health in Philadelphia 1682-2004 later in Spring 2004. This preview of One World presents the chapter related to
the epidemics of 1753-1799 that plagued the city. Other chapters include: "Early Medical Care, 1682-1752"; "Water and Public Health, 1800-1853";
