Atwater Kent Museum of Philadelphia Announces Appointment of Development and Marketing Directors
March 17, 2009 (Philadelphia, PA) - Today the Atwater Kent Museum of Philadelphia (AKMP), a public-private partnership between the city, museum supporters, and private funders, announced the appointment of two key positions: Jennifer Fuges, Director of Development, and Kate Bieg, Director of Marketing and Public Relations. The positions are part of a long-term sustainability program supported by a three-year grant from the William Penn Foundation.
Fuges comes to AKMP from St. Joseph's University (SJU) where she worked as the Executive Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations. Prior to her post at SJU, Fuges worked on the development staff at Temple University, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and Westminster Choir College of Rider University, respectively.
As Development Director of the museum, she will be responsible for a comprehensive development program, particularly in the areas of individual giving, major gifts, and membership. She will create and maintain relationships in an effort to leverage increased private support for the annual giving campaign, endowment, and capital projects.
Fuges has an M.S. degree in Arts Administration from Drexel University and a B.A. in Communications from The College of New Jersey (Ewing, NJ).
Bieg enters the non-profit realm after having worked as Director of Marketing for Govberg Jewelers and its subsidiaries, including Fine Life Media (iW, International Watch and Stylus magazines). Prior to Govberg, she worked as an Account Executive at Tierney Communications and Cashman & Associates, both located in Philadelphia. At AKMP, Bieg is working in concert with the Philadelphia-based advertising agency 160over90 to re-brand and re-launch the museum, initiating exciting new events series and exhibition programs when the museum reopens in 2010 after a $5.8 million renovation to its historic building. She has a B.A. degree in Government and Law from Lafayette College (Easton, PA).
