Cocktails in the Courtyard Moved to Thursday, June 20 from 6-9 p.m.

Let's try this again! Now that the stormy weather has passed, the History Museum re-invites you to join us for Cocktails in the Courtyard: A Mad Hatter Garden Party on Thursday, June 20, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Same great food, drinks, music and more!

History Museum to Participate in Blue Star Museums

The Philadelphia History Museum is proud to participate in the Blue Star Museums initiative for the summer of 2013. The Museum joins over 1,800 national organizations by offering free admission to all active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day, May 27, through Labor Day, September 2, 2013.

History Museum to Hold a Conversation on Breweriana, Collecting Beer Memorabilia, May 23, Press Release

 In celebration of Philly Beer Week 2013, the Philadelphia History Museum will hold Conversations: Breweriana, Collecting Beer Memorabilia, on Saturday June 8, from 2:00-5:00 p.m., with noted collectors Larry Handy and Dale Van Wieren. The presentation will be followed by a live demonstration of colonial home brewing in the Museum’s Marian Mitchell Garden by Rich Wagner, author of the book Philadelphia Beer: A Heady History of Brewing in the Cradle of Liberty.

Philadelphia History Museum Takes a Fresh Look at Philadelphia's Faded Past, May 6, Press Release

Philadelphia-native, designer, and author Lawrence O’Toole will speak at the Philadelphia History Museum, Thursday, May 16, 2013, about Philadelphia’s historically significant hand-painted outdoor signage dating from the late-1800s to the 1960s.
