The Philadelphia History Museum has many resources for primary research on objects related to the history of Philadelphia. Specialties include Philadelphia manufacturing and crafts, the Friends Historical Association, toys, prints, Atwater Kent radios, and the Colonial and early republic eras.
The Philadelphia History Museum does not have genealogical resources and, generally, does not have resources to assist with family histories.

Access to the collections is provided by reservation. Some questions may have no charge; for work that involves research, there is a fee. Email the Research department or call 215.843.1713.
